I love typing on my blog like a cow girl it’s really a dream come true for me as I waited so many years to have a horse again and then GOD double blessed us with donkeys. If you own donkeys, horses or mules that spend most of their time standing around more than likely they are easy keepers.
Purchasing Hay:
Timothy or Orchard hay is going to be lower in sugar and protein than any other hay, select SAFEERGRASS to learn more.
Never Feed Donkeys Alfalfa hay as they are easy keepers remember the donkey is the desert equine truly an exotic equine. If you feed your donkey alfalfa hay they will get fat rolls on their neck, soon their stomach is bloated out and hooves are rotting away, literally rotting and separating a painful and horrific thing to happen to a desert donkey. Fescue hay can be high in sugar too so best to test your hay if you can before purchasing.
