Howdy,
Just like people can get depressed I think animals can get depressed when they suffer a great loss of relationship from another family member, buddy or a human.
Select National Geographic Do Animals Get Depressed to read more.
Select Animals can help us humans with depression to see the benefits of having animals. If you can not afford the cost of a pet consider volunteering your time at an animal rescue organization close to your home. You will not only be helping the animals and the humans who created this wonderful place you will be helping yourself.
The bible is clear we must help another in order to help ourselves – remember volunteering to help another human or animal may be the best medicine the doctor could order
GOD bless you and your family two and four-legged!

Melody,
I thought it might be interesting for you to know about our Miniature Pinscher, Stormy. He seems to get depressed – he sighs – when he doesn’t get walked, and we’re in all day. We’re older and don’t always feel well, and also sometimes it rains or snows alot. Poor Stormy! He is very expressive, and funny, in his vocalizations. (He also huffs at us as soon as it’s time for him to eat – he has an amazing internal clock.)
Bless you for making suggestions to help suffering animals and people! Hope you’re feeling well!!

Hi Maria,
Thanks for sharing with me and everyone that reads my blog about your sweet dog. Yes I noticed all of our animals became depressed when I was hurt in the semi truck accident all of them even the kitties were not playing like they usually do. Animals have feelings too

Hi Maria,
Yes I seem to have lot’s of time to learn and watch the animals it is the place GOD has me. I am tired today after the gym yesterday and working on new core strength exercises from the new physical therapist I continue to pray one day I will not have so much pain and suffering. Such a long, long road to get my life back and yet GOD is taking care of everything as I am his child. GOD is amazing.

He is!
I’m sorry that you’ve had such a difficult time, but the things that the Lord has shown you, and His presence with you personally, must be a joy you wouldn’t want to miss. Being His child is the meaning of our lives.
Also, it’s great to think that we will be with Him forever, without any suffering or death, and with our brothers and sisters; and that animals will be with us and won’t suffer either, but will enjoy the life He intends for them in their sweet simplicity, or beauty and power.
