Why write this post?
It is my hope and desire that my life story will help you have a bit more empathy for your family and friends who are suffering with pain. Animals cannot speak our language and they depend on us humans to pay attention to how they are walking, laying and acting in life, please remember pain affects our pets too
What’s it like to live with chronic pain?
The smile that was once on our human face is removed replaced with little wrinkles between the eyes, breathing is shortened and more intense, hands can seem to grip tight, toes crumple up, neck is tight, and pain becomes something we learn to live with. No longer is it fun to entertain or attend social events as pain requires our immediate attention. Here is a link to show the faces of Pain a doctor pain scale really sad that many times a chronic pain can turn into a tear jerking insane pain for no apparent reason at all. Pain changes and swings in and out of our bodies.
What Can We Do To Help The Human Or Animal Live The Best Life?
Make sure the doctors have an understanding of what is causing the pain. Pain has a reason to be sending us the signal something is wrong in our bodies, something is terribly wrong when pain makes us cry tears and we need to give our bodies the opportunity to heal. We need to wait another day to push harder and sometimes less is more in working with strengthening our bodies muscles.
Pain is very real yes this is indeed true but beneath the pain and pain medication is the same human we use to know in a different way, same mother, wife, husband, brother, father, daughter, sister, co-worker, friend just enduring a daily battle with chronic pain. To be free of pain is indeed a gift from GOD. Never take for granted such a gift as it has freed you to do or be anything you want to be, no limitations if you are pain free.
GOD bless you and your family two and four-legged!

We have no understanding of true and chronic pain as we have very luckily never suffered. Watching others suffer can bring some awareness. We do hope you manage to control your pain as well as possible. Yes, animals are real uncomplainers – it’s bred into them not to show vulnerability. We do owe it to them to be aware and come to their aid when in need.

My mother suffered with Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years with deformed joints and chronic migraines. I have come to admire those who are able to endure their daily pain and still have some quality to their life. I only hope if I am one day faced with that challenge that I can be as strong.

I read this with tears in my eyes for you and for my husband. He, like you, suffers extreme and chronic pain, all day, every day. The only breaths of fresh air are the morphine drips, which he can have as often as he likes but prevent him then from functioning mentally. He, like you, puts his entire trust in God and I will continue to keep both of you in my prayers. May God bless you both with a lack of pain.

Before I start, let me say that I don’t cry. Problem is, though, that as soon as I read your “pain steals our smiles” it just started. It does that for those in pain and for those who love the people who are suffering. It really has stolen our smiles. I cannot believe that God would want this for anyone! I find myself questioning it and then get annoyed with myself for having had the thoughts. I do battle somewhat with the understanding of it all – as I’m sure you must do as well. I’m battling with this comment. Sitting here staring at the screen, trying to work out how to ask you if you have any answers. So, I’ll just ask if you do?

Hi Susan,
You are so right not only does pain affect the person/animals it affects the life around the painful being. My grandma is 92 years old and she has seen many things during her 92 years here on earth she asked me the same question recently WHY? Why Pain and Suffering Must Continue On, some people seem to get more than others?
Reading the bible I understand how GOD helps others by using us to help others so perhaps it has something to do with this bigger than little me as I am just a person. I do not think people can have empathy and complete understanding of what pain is unless they have felt it or been touched by the suffering of a loved one deeply. Pain changes everything it is an unwelcome guest. Doctors have a hard time with pain too as no human can understand everything that GOD has created.
I am deeply sorry for you and your husband suffering from chronic pain, I have this to share; Be grateful, live with an expectancy from GOD and never stop asking GOD for a miracle of healing, favor, and how to make our life easier in the midst of trauma pain and suffering.
Here is a prayer:
GOD comforts, encourages and consoles me in every trouble. He enables me to console others who need comfort. 2 CORINTHIANS 1:4 The little purple book The Secret Power Of Speaking GOD’s Word helps as it is organized by what us humans are looking for in the bible. Health, Anger, Suffering, Love, anxiety etc., I highly suggest a copy of this little purple book. We must learn to control our thoughts to stay positive and live our life grateful sure each of us has a times we need to cry, crying is good for our bodies no doubt but then we need to get up in our mind and dream another dream. Never give up as GOD will never give up on his children. I hope I encouraged you and helped you big hug!
GOD bless you and your family two and four-legged!

Thank you Melody for your effort in answering my questions when you, yourself, must be going through so much hardship. You most certainly have helped and I wish all God’s blessings on you for being there for us.
PS – I was having a bad day when I replied to you before. With God’s blessings, truly wonderful friends, family, hubby (and not forgetting you) have all brought me through that. We continue strong in the faith that God has a plan greater than we can imagine.

Hi Susan,
I have had many traumatic issues happen to me and my family in the last 52 years here on earth. I know I can do nothing without GOD’s help in Jesus Christ name, nothing. I understand how important it is for each of us to be human angel to help another human and the animals. GOD uses all things to make good as we live in a fallen world.
Never give up on GOD as GOD can make hard days a distant memory, remember you can control what you are thinking as it is your brain, thinking about great things in lieu of sad things will re-charge your batteries. Pray and trust GOD to work things out, GOD will make things better than we could ever dream up or plan. GOD is amazing in Jesus Christ name.
Thank you for sending me a note to let me know you are in a better place today. I care about you and your family, you are important and special. Please keep in touch

Hello Argylesock,
No problem with posting the link to my blog. Please understand what I was saying in my blog was animals do have pain but they can’t speak our language we need to read them, pay attention to their pain and find out what is causing it. I guess I was not clear had a long night as I was writing the blog up with rib pain again. GOD bless you!

Thanks for the post. As someone who lives with chronic pain, and who share my life with many others also who do, it is always humbling to read something that attempts to help others understand. May they never be able to empathize (share the experience), but they at least can sympathize (show understanding).

Hi, Thanks for visiting my blog http://weepingintodancing.wordpress.com/
I have a friend who was very depressed and about to go on disability because of her chronic pain but her diet turned things around. She is on a Hypoglycemic Diet. She doesn’t eat much sugar and anything white. You might try this if you haven’t already. Ask your doctor first.

Thank you for reading my blog and thank you for your support. The three large screws surgically inserted into my pelvis stainless steel and long (hip bone to hip bone) along with the 8 broken ribs that did not heal correctly cause me chronic pain, foot numbness and back spasms. I continue to pray GOD can heal my body and stop the pain and suffering. Thank you for the idea.
GOD bless you I pray your pain is controlled as I read your blog.
