Expect Miracles

Sampson we found him on pet finders http://www.petfinder.com/index.html three years ago after our special fateful black lab “Steelee”died.  We literally drove 308 miles each way to pick him up in Pullman, Washington believe me Sampson believes in miracles as this shelter was a very sad shelter.  All the dogs were outside in their dog igloos including this pup and it was 6 degrees during the day.  Sampson is Great Pyrenees/Akita and he is truly a big boy weighing in at 114 lbs, he runs the property to keep the coyotes out and protect his home.

Expecting Miracles” – Keeping My Mind Locked In On Jesus Christ

Right after I wake in the morning I take a minute to thank GOD for the ability to walk, brush my teeth, keep my farm, have my husband, my husband’s job and healing my body.  If I need to repent of any sin I do this quickly in Jesus precious name Amen.  Next I take at least two minutes to visualize GOD providing miracles for every need we have in our life as GOD can do it! I ask GOD to give me the creativity and innovation needed to be a miracle to another living being, human or animal today sow a seed.  Our part is to beleive in GOD, have faith and ask GOD to help us and forgive our sins.  Sowing seeds is what were created to do -  helping others and doing the best job we can every day while we are living and breathing, sharing and loving on the people GOD has placed in our lives.  Expecting Miracles is a mind-set and you want to program your mind as a child of GOD in Jesus Christ name to be given favor, opportunity and miracles.  In the middle of the storm GOD has promised to give us peace if we will let all go to him give it a try.

How To Program Your Mind To Be Positive Expect Miracles:

1.  When you open your eyes in the morning thank GOD in Jesus Christ name for this new day and anything you can think of to be grateful for

2.  Write down five things you are grateful for and place them on the fridge or a mirror you see every day

3. Write down your goals for 2011 and a five-year plan and place these goals where you can see them  - Every day counts as we do not know when our time is up

4.  Donate your time to help another living person, animal or business get connected with others – If you are physically limited use the internet to connect

5.  Be flexible if your goals change pray about the change and walk the direction GOD sends you in peace and harmony

6.  Expect miracles, goodness, mercy, favor, blessings, increase, love, peace and health from GOD

7.  Live in the moment – Let go of the past and do not run too far ahead of GOD as each day is precious and a gift from GOD

8.  Forgive people immediately after being offended and be honest 100% of the time

9.  When you look in the mirror each day love yourself say good things to yourself

10.  Never give up, keep pushing forward everything changes this is just a season

11. Treat everyone how you want to be treated

12.  Forgive yourself when you make mistakes in life and do not repeat that mistake and ask GOD to forgive you only need to ask once and it is written in the bible we are washed whiter than snow when becoming a christian

13.  Enjoy the gifts GOD has placed in your life

14. Take at least twenty minutes a day to pray and marinate with GOD

15.  Lighten up life is short and we are not in control GOD is – Smile and laugh more!

16.  If you are in chronic pain keep pushing forward to find the medication to give you some relief.  Suffering from pain robs each of us from joy, love, and life keep pushing to find a way to not have pain and still have a quality life.

17. Thank GOD for all of the good things in your life and the blessings GOD is sending your way

18.  Be humble

19. Walk in love, don’t judge people, be jealous of them as each of us has special gifts designated by GOD for all of his children

20. Live in peace within yourself and say NO to people when you feel it is best for you; time, values, religious belief, money etc. or try this way; let me pray on this and I will get back to you

GOD bless you and your family two and four legs!

Remember you are a child of the most high GOD.  You walk in his favor each and every day because you choose to kneel to Jesus Christ and make him your Lord and savior.  Rejoice in our confident hope.  Be patient when trouble comes and keep on praying.  Romans 12:12

How Can I Help My Horse, Donkey or, Mule Trailer Load

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Howdy,

First and most important make sure you have tamed your equine dictionary states the word tamed is; (of animals) not fearful of human contact.  All animals need to trust their human partner and know they are safe, I mean safe like we want to feel safe.

Do you remember the last time you were afraid of a person, dentist, surgery?

Our beloved equine are looking for the feeling of safety they felt when they were little with their moma.  After surviving a semi truck accident while riding as a passenger with serious life threatening injuries I understand what fear is and how hard it is to trust the nurses and doctors.  I believe it is vital that the human partner has empathy for their equine and continuously looks for ways to keep the equine safe and comfortable.  Try looking in your own life and think how you would want to be treated if you were the equine.  So many people today are in a hurry, work, family kids, shopping and I just want to go ride my equine or take them to an event or medical appointment.  I promise if you take your time to tame your equine first learn the Parelli seven games, timing, pressure release all of your equine will walk right into their horse trailer.

This is the state equine can go into with different reactions;  donkeys stand and don’t move when scared usually, but some can fight and move.  My left brain extrovert horse when terrified will do everything she can to avoid death, try to look at the psychology of your equine first.  Consider having empathy, taking the time it takes to help your equine learn that the horse trailer is safe and most important prove to your equine that you will always keep them safe never ever abuse them or authorize anyone to abuse them as the equine never forgets abuse. Parelli utilizes the carrot stick in training creating an extension of the human arm, a long tale and a way to stay safe but not abuse.  Some people think love the equine and all will be well these people can end up dead as a thousand pound equine is no match physically for a human.  Working with equine is dangerous always have a plan before stepping into the same space with the equine.

If you don’t think the horse trailer is safe in the back of your mind, body and soul you will convey this feeling to your horse! If you think your horse trailer is safe the equine will feel safe as they have the ability to sense every feeling their human partner has.  Expectancy, visualization, believing and seeing the positive end result of whatever we want to do starts with our mind, trust GOD in all things and life is easier.

Staying safe with a thousand pound equine is the most important training lesson for you and your beloved horse, donkey or mule, accidents happen usually due to poor leadership as ignorance is not bliss, clearly  poor planning.  Horses who think they are going to die will do everything they can to avoid death such as jumping up, hitting their head in fear, spinning in the horse trailer to get out and more.  Please take the time it takes to tame your equine and then create a plan where your beloved equine is wanting to get into the safest horse trailer you can afford to purchase utilizing resistance free training.

Every time we are with our equine we are teaching them something and feeding time is a really great opportunity to train on respect such as; OUT (of the barn), taking the grain or treat with manners, always having two eyes pointed at us.  Safety is number one in working with equine.

Why is it important to feed our equine ourselves?

Trust, leadership, responsibility, and building a solid relationship as we must be the person who does the great stuff for the equine not just the riding and training.  If all you do with your equine is ride pretty soon they will not be wanting to come to you and be your partner and most likely when you fall off they will not come back to you as prisoners are always looking for a way to escape.  I highly suggest you take advantage of Parelli, get the rope halter, lead line and carrot stick and learn the seven games. I highly suggest looking into the free 30 days of training being offered from Parelli to become a partner with your equine.

Equine (horse, donkey or mule) are prey animals they look at the horse trailer and the human as predators and the trailer is going to trap them and possibly kill them.  It is your job to help them learn the trailer is safe and comfortable before taking them for a trip in the horse trailer spend at least a week feeding lunch and letting them out of their trailer.

Thirty four years is a long time to have a dream and I should have bought an eighteen year old gelding but I was determined to have my own horse trained by me and so my journey in Parelli began as I needed tools to manage this young horse.  Next we purchased our Mammoth donkey Left brain introvert afraid of everything and more WHOA than GO, now I was in a real pickle and having no experience with donkeys other than a ride down the grand canyon at nine years old I needed help yesterday.  Donkeys push away from pressure so they are a challenge to train and when they are done they lay down.  The best thing a human can do for their donkey is less training and never push them to the point they lay down, always go back to something they enjoy doing and have mastered when ending short training sessions of no more than 15 minutes.

The right way to trailer load our equine (horse, donkey, mule) is taking the time it takes for the equine to enjoy getting into the trailer and have no plan on going anywhere as every time we are in a hurry the equine picks up on this energy and they cannot tell if it is danger or what just high energy and the equine gets nervous.    Next I send them into the trailer with hay in it no pressure just eat lunch!  This is where they would eat their lunch a few days  a week and then in the evening my  husband Scott and I would take them for a ride in their trailer and have nowhere to go just a ride to get use to the noise of other cars, footing to stand in the trailer around  forty minutes each time.  I use the Parelli yo-yo game with just my finger to back them out of the trailer and this is much safer than bursting out of the trailer in a hurry.

If you are having a problem with trailer loading remember it has nothing to do with the trailer and everything to do with preparation, leadership and trust.  As the equine leader and owner it is our job to be the best leader we can to provide the equine with preparation and relaxation techniques.  Remember to treat the equine with respect and dignity the way we would want to be treated if we were placed in a situation we were afraid of the little things make the biggest difference in everything we do.  Sadly most people do not have the time it takes to lead and train the equine to trailer load they wait until the day it is time to take them somewhere and this is a big mistake.

Thank GOD I had trained all of my equine utilizing the Parelli training techniques before this almost fatal motor vehicle accident in spring of 2010.  All of my equine enjoy having their lunch in their trailer give it a try.  Please remember that every time you are working with equine you are in a dangerous situation but with tools as Parelli states “savvy” you have a better chance of not getting hurt. Safety should be your number one concern for you and your equine.

Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Parelli!!!!

GOD bless you and your family two and four legs!

Help My Donkey Is Flattening His Ears At Me?

Melody riding Lily last year before the semi truck accident ponying Rio up for the first time

Notice how Rio our mammoth donkey has his ears back. This is not a sign of aggression like some folks think of a horse.  Notice Lily is listening to me and thinking too - Donkeys are not the same as a horse please remember they have the ability to stop and think and they think all the time with their ears back, forward, sideways amazing how they move those magnificent giant ears.

Important consideration in training any equine is having a relationship first and then do everything you can to motivate, inspire and play with your donkey, horse or mule.

All equine learn different just like people, get ready to enjoy your treasure and please relax let your donkey be a donkey things go much easier this way.   We cannot say a horse lays his ears back so this means with a donkey.  A donkey is not a horse he/she is a donkey!

GOD bless you and your family two and four legs!

What Gifts Do Natural Animal Trainers Have?

Howdy,

Did you ever think about this subject in detail before?  Animals can not speak our language yet we see how they can learn our language and we can quickly see how they can not thus the dog whisperer for red zone dogs and humans trying to learn what to do for their beloved pet.  For example a dog can learn to sit, stay, wait, down etc but first the owner has to be taught how to teach the dog and be consistent, fair, honest each time, most of the behavior training is taught to the human first and then to the dog.  Now let’s look at the other side of the coin for this subject.  Animals have a strong sixth sense and their sense of people, places, danger is dead on accurate in most cases before we their human leader even start to notice a problem our dogs or equine has alerted us to a problem.   Animals have strong emotional intelligence (sixth sense) working for them and some people have this gift too, I believe the ones that do not have it can work on exercising this brain muscle.  Yes I said brain muscle as this is all connected to the most important organ we humans have our brains!  I believe our sixth sense that feeling something is not right is extremely important things we can work on to change our life and be more productive in the world helping ourselves and others.

My Mammoth donkey can hear someone walking in the woods at least one minute before I do as he has mammoth donkey ears built to help him hear from GOD as donkeys started out living in the desert and they needed to hear to stay alive from predators.  My dog Jewel is the pack leader of all dogs, not me and my husband as we stay in the leadership role with her.  She has the ability to read people and other dogs in just seconds as to good, bad or dangerous people.  I have learned that she is always right and I should listen to her as her emotional intelligence is strong and accurate.  Clear boundaries, consistent training, fair, respectful, having a plan, loving, clear leadership and safety is what animals want from their human owners as they want to stay in the neutral part of their brains just like we do.  Being honest and fair with animals speeds up the training process and it is my opinion these tools help us navigate life and can be used with our human interactions too.  Just think about this for a moment would it not be simply wonderful if every time we interacted with people around us; family, boss, co-workers, medical world, government employees, and businesses they were honest and consistent every time and provided us with clear and concise transparent communication?

Gifts Natural Animal Trainers Utilize For Success:

1.  Emotional Intelligence

2. Honesty

3. Consistency

4. Clear and concise boundaries

5. Love

6. Language

7. Leadership

8.  Transparency

9. Forgiveness

10.  Grateful attitude

11.  Perseverance and outstanding work ethics – We get out of life exactly what we put into it, no more and no less!

The power of transparency is obvious to most of us but sadly we hardly ever see it today and when we do see transparency the person behind honesty, transparency usually has upset a few folks.  Why is this?   Honesty must be one of the main ingredients of natural animal training and provides a bonus for each of us in successful human interaction.  Most people just don’t want to be totally honest as well this will offend some people.  Those people who understand the importance of looking in the mirror and being proud of the person looking back will follow their beliefs and GOD to navigate life.

GOD bless you and your family two and four legs!

More Than Just A Turkey Dinner A Time To Reflect On Our Life

Keep moving forward helping one another as this is what we were created to do move!  Just like the butterfly; some of us fly a little faster, some a little slower but all of us need one another to keep moving forward in life.  NEVER STOP MOVING FORWARD, NEVER SETTLE GOD wants the best for his children all of his children.

Thanksgiving is a time to give great thankfulness in our hearts and minds to Jesus as GOD sends us exactly what we need to navigate in this thing called life.  Life is fragile and precious every day is a gift from GOD, “having our health is one of the best blessings GOD gives us every day always be grateful.”  If you have lost your health and you are working to get it back relax and believe, that GOD will provide a miracle “pray in Jesus Christ name for a miracle” as GOD provides miracles this is my testimony.  GOD sends us just the right best friend’s one who can forgive, love, and stand tall next to us in times of great trial and stress!  In these great trials the frail and ignorant friends are weeded away like a big wind storm we can see the strong trees standing and the weak knocked out; only the strong friends stay.  Praise GOD that he gives us friends who are not afraid to drop their life and help us when needed; I have a few very good friends who have done this for me and me for them.  I call these friends human angels GOD sent just for me.

As you prepare to reunite with your family and friends for Thanksgiving please pause and take the time to be grateful for all the blessings you have.  So many times we forget that we have the best blessing of all our health and no amount of money can fix a serious health problem only GOD can so remember if you have your health you are truly rich and there is nothing you can not accomplish.  Even with limited health people step up and make their life the best it can be as I walked thru Harborview Critical Care Hospital, Seattle, WA  this month for my last kidney test I saw so many people with serious health issues; no eye, both legs gone and wearing shorts and prosthetic leg, smiling and traveling great, burned faces on children, cancer victims and on and on.  If ever you start to feel sorry for yourself go to a trauma hospital I believe you will be grateful for your health really quickly.  Everyone is struggling with something it is the world we live in today but walking with GOD makes the road easier this is my perspective and my honest account of how I navigate in this thing called life.  I hope by sharing I have helped you and inspired you to reach out and help another human and any animals needing help as life is all about becoming a human angel and doing the best we can each day.

I am thankful to GOD for new pain and sleeping medication!  This medication helps remove pain as I have been suffering with severe pain for seven months with four and five hours of sleep per night.  This is not enough for me even when I am not tying to heal! I am now happy to report I get seven to eight  hours of sleep every night and relief from the pain.  GOD found a way to help me and for this I am grateful!  I am able to laugh again, smile and enjoy life and this is a precious gift from GOD for if you ever experience pain that will not go away in so many places of your body it begins to consume you and sleep deprivation destroys moods and relationships.  How wonderful it is to share good food, laughter, health and love for the meal called thanksgiving.

I have been trapped in my home since April 2010 unable to ride my equine unable to go to arenas and ride and take lessons and most importantly no trail riding with friends.  I have not been physically able to finish my horse and my Mammoth donkey but I am grateful for the time I had before the accident and I am proud of my accomplishment in training with my equine.  Lily was twenty one months old when I purchased her and still living with  her mother and Rio was nine months old,  youngsters clean slate and lot’s of hard work and patience in training.  If you are having problems with training I highly sugest you look at the Parelli web site as they have the most equine training available online with videos available for teaching.  I find Parelli to be the best Natural horsemanship training for my horse and my donkeys as they respond positive to their training, most importantly I am safe when working with our thousand pound equines.  Let me be clear “I am not a certified Parelli instructor yet” it is my goal to some day get physically well enough to go to Parelli and become a certified instructor.  I can not share any of their training methods on how to do things as I am not a Parelli Certified Equine Specialist yet.  When I recover from the accident physically it is my goal to go to Parelli school and become a certified Parelli equine Specialist, I plan on helping horses, donkeys and mules and their owners.

Today my life is one hundred percent different that it was before April 13, 2010 when the semi truck hit the passenger door of the little truck I was riding in with my GOD mother.   Everything I do is difficult and painful; driving, walking in the grocery store, feeding my equine, caring for them, going out to eat, impossible to go to a movie and sit too long. I believe GOD will give me double for my trouble as it is written in the bible and soon my spring will come as this difficult time is just a season.  Some times I cry and get angry as I am human but I let this emotion go as it is not helping me and my family two and four legs.  I go back to the bible and this is one of my favorite verses to make sense of everything out of my control and I smile and think of all the wonderful surprises GOD has in store for me.

PSALM 18 – verse 1-3

I love you O LORD, my strength

 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

My GOD is my rock, in whom I take refuge.

He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

I call to the LORD who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies

One of my favorite poems to help navigate life:

 Autobiography in Five Short Chapters

By Portia Nelson

I walk down the street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk

            I fall in

            I am lost…I am helpless

            It isn’t my fault

I walk down the same street.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk

            I pretend I don’t see it

            I fall in again

I can’t believe I am in the same place

            But it isn’t my fault

It still takes a long time to get out

I walk down the same street

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk

            I see it is there

            I still fall in…it’s a habit

            My eyes are open

            I know where I am

            It is my fault

            I get out immediately

I walk down the same street

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk

            I walk around it

I walk down another street

GOD bless you and your family two and four legs!

Positive Mind Set Is Essential To Success

My progress:

Continue working hard to regain my life before the semi truck accident in April of 2010; prayer, physical therapy, acupuncture, medication, healthy food, herbs, water, sleep, grateful attitude, anticipation of the future gifts coming my way and a detailed awareness of how precious life is.   Everything I physically do is affected and has become very difficult for me I push through the pain for my family (two and four legs) and I rest my body when it is exhausted. I remember “A Body In Motion Stays In Motion.” Pain is a mental challenge as it affects, moods, sleep, laughter, enjoyment and ability to have wisdom and confidence.  I pray every day that GOD will remove this pain and I believe soon he will.  Pain is really strong in my right hip, left hip, lower back, right side but I know GOD will heal me completely when the pain comes I cry,  blow my nose and thank GOD I am still here and that GOD let me keep my legs, and a sound mind as I had a head injury from the semi truck accident.  Going back to Harborview hospital last week for my last appointment of my kidney that had a grade V tear from the accident in April I saw a man with shorts on and a prosthetic leg walking along really good.  This brought tears to my cheeks as I know I  have no doubt this could have been me as we were traveling a total of one hundred miles and hour (both vehicles around 50 mph) when the semi struck the little seat I was sitting in.  GOD spared my legs, mind and provided so many miracles, thank you Jesus!

If you are reading this blog and you are in pain or you know someone suffering from pain do everything you can to take care of body, mind, spirit, soul and Pray for GOD, Jesus Christ to create, healing, peace, love, favor and blessings each day. Remember you are a victor not a victim, you are the head not the tail, you are created to loan and not borrow.   By your favor O Lord, you have established me as a strong mountain. Psalm 30:7

Fall is in the air leaves are falling gold, red-orange and a crisp cool breeze kisses my face each morning and evening as I feed and care for my equine I am so very grateful to have this experience.  The donkeys already have their Eskimo thick donkey fur coats and I can hardly see Rocket Man’s little eyes he is snug as a bug in a rug.  Lily is growing her coat too but being the horse she is much slower than her step brothers the Mammoth donkey and mini donkey.  Most of the birds have left, wild rabbits living on are farm are digging holes to survive the upcoming winter, chipmunks are nesting and all the plants are going for a long winter sleep.

Our winter water bucket has a built-in water heater such a blessing as it plugs into the wall (make sure the equine can not reach the cord) to prevent them electrically shocking themselves, getting cool at night now.  Donkeys,  mules and  horses prefer clean scrubbed water please remember to clean your buckets every couple of days to prevent colic.

Positive mind-set is essential to success, always have faith, what we say and think is what we usually get in life.  Be very careful with your thoughts and words and study positive verses never stop believing in GOD as he loves to provide miracles for his children.
