Three Years After The Semi-Truck Accident – Physical Therapy and Stroke Victims

I am physically disabled but not dead, I continue to attend Physical Therapy two days a week and massage therapy, one and half hours one day a week. Select GOD Created A Miracle for me for more details.  Spring and summer bring me a bit of relief as I walk better and feel better when it is warm outside the three large screws in my pelvis do not like to get cold or feel the damp. Additionally I am happy to give up my full-time long johns and snow pants I wear from October to April living in the great Pacific Northwest, Washington.

My current Physical Therapist works mostly with stroke victims as he has advanced certification in neurological rehabilitation.  He has over twelve years of experience in treating adults with musculoskeletal and neurological disorders and well he is outstanding in understanding the functions of the human body coordinating together to walk, I call him my gait specialist.

Attending Physical therapy is never easy it is painful, challenging and feels like I am going forward and doing great and then one little thing can set me back for three months or longer.  I will never give up as I dream of riding my horse and Mammoth donkey one day, being able to go fishing, 5th wheeling, traveling, snow shoeing, walking on the ocean looking for treasures fly my kite on a warm sunny day with the ocean behind me, hiking, ride my bike, walk in the mall without pain and get more than the essentials in the clothing department and so much more.  So much has changed in my life and yet I know GOD has a plan and I am in the palm of his hand.

This has prompted me to share what the warning signs of a stroke are.  If you can get a stroke victim to the doctor in three hours the chances are much greater to help the stroke victim recover much quicker and in some cases reverse it.

Learn the many warning signs of a stroke. Act FAST and CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY at any sign of a stroke.

Use FAST to remember the warning signs:

	FACE: Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
	ARMS:Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
	SPEECH:Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is their speech slurred or strange?
	TIME:If you observe any of these signs, call 9-1-1 immediately.

NOTE THE TIME WHEN ANY SYMPTOMS FIRST APPEAR. If given within three hours of the first symptom, there is an FDA-approved clot-buster medication that may reduce long-term disability for the most common type of stroke. There are also two other types of stroke treatment available that might help reduce the effects of stroke. Read more about stroke treatment.

Learn as many stroke symptoms as possible so you can recognize stroke as FAST as possible. Click here to download the FAST Wallet Card to keep a reminder of stroke warning signs with you wherever you go!

Stroke symptoms include:

• SUDDEN numbness or weakness of face, arm or leg – especially on one side of the body.
• SUDDEN confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.
• SUDDEN trouble seeing in one or both eyes.
• SUDDEN trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination.
• SUDDEN severe headache with no known cause.

Now doctors say a  bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S  *Ask the individual to SMILE.

T  *Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE  (Coherently) (I.e. It is sunny out today.)

R  *Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

Call 9-1-1 immediately if you have any of these symptoms

It has come to our attention via the poster shown that a donkey roping event is scheduled for May 25 and 26 in Welch, OK. We stopped ropings in Eden, TX and Van Horne, TX last year. Please send letters and call to get this one stopped too!

  I study equine behavioral science extensively under the Parelli home study program. I have personally owned a Mammoth donkey and mini donkey along with my horse for six years now, I would like to share with you how sensitive and smart the donkey is. I am the voice for the donkey as they have no voice.
  
  Are you aware that donkeys are indeed smart, sensitive and a lovey equine?

  
  Are you aware the donkey never forgets anything and is very intelligent? Donkeys that are not abused are more like a black lab than a horse, they love their butt rubbed, hugs, kisses and kind words. Placing donkeys in this abusive and traumatic environment is abuse there is no other word for this than abuse this is not entertainment, this is abuse.
  
  Please consider the cry of these magnificent and highly social and intelligent donkeys to not abuse them for money. Donkeys are much different from the horse in the respect that when under deep stress they freeze and do not move. Cows will run out the shoot but donkeys freeze thus the need to use the cow shocker on them. These traumatized donkeys can have fatal consequences for a few minutes of Cowboy fun and the greed of money if they survive they will more than likely have permanent Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) and not be able to fit into the human social world ever again.

Animals Mourn The Loss Of A Companion

My husband had to drive the 5th wheel home a six-hour drive without me, our three dogs were thinking the whole time he left me behind go back!

What started out as a trip with our dogs in our 5th wheel to visit friends turned out to be a nightmare as I almost died in a motor vehicle accident three years ago while riding as a passenger.  Select GOD Created A Miracle For Me to read more.  The anxiety built up so bad for them they could not eat for days.  Finally after twelve days in the trauma hospital I was able to come home and to this day my big dog Sampson has anxiety when I leave the house for more than a few hours.  He runs to the window looking and barking to see if I am coming home.  Animals are very intelligent and we must never forget this.

We have a couple of close friends who work as care takers on a Donkey Farm they have told us that when a Donkey dies on the farm they let the companion donkeys smell and touch the dead body to help with the healing process.  ”Just like a child that does not understand what death is animals need closure too.”

When Life Is Just Too Hard

Seems the most difficult times are amongst all of us living in this fallen world but this I know for sure, “When I was in my darkest place, most pain not sure what the future held Jesus was holding my right hand. Jesus was helping me stay strong keep reading Psalms over and over and speaking the word of JESUS CHRIST out loud, Never Give Up as GOD has a plan, GOD’s plan is always better than my plan.”

When I could no longer hold my bible due to weakness and pain (8 broken ribs and more), I would listen to my iPod with Max McLean reading Psalms and John over and over.  This helped me so very much to fill my head with the word of GOD. No room in my head for satins lies.

Several times when the pain was the most unbearable I felt like I was being punished by GOD, that he did not care about me and I just did not understand why I had to endure such horrific amounts of pain for so long.  The  absolute worst part was not being able to sleep more than four to five hours per night.  Prisoners of WAR understand what sleep deprivation can do to the human body, mind and soul.  I lost many long time friends of over thirty years during this most difficult time in our life as trauma burns away all the non-essential things in our life including people. 

April 13, 2013 was the three-year anniversary of the semi-truck accident and I can finally say the pain is manageable.  Select GOD created a miracle for me to read more. I am still in physical therapy two days a week and massage therapy one day a week but slowly and surely I am getting stronger.  The most difficult part of rehabilitation of injuries like mine are the back slides, I work so very hard in physical therapy and then boom can’t do much of anything for a couple of months due to the insane pain and rib, back and hip spasms. Winter is the most difficult as well the arthritis is building fast in my body and the cold is extremely painful I wear snow pants, long johns and layers of clothing from October into April living in the Pacific Northwest. The mind is the battlefield and I think we need to keep listening, reading and speaking the word until things change even if the only thing that changes is how we think our brain is connected to our joy and peace.

Nothing stays the same forever nothing except GOD’s Love!

I pray GOD releases his angels from Jesus Christ to surround you with light, love, healing and hope, I pray GOD binds the two of you if you are married to one another in a way so strong a way that you have never felt before.

I pray these angels from Jesus Christ make you a Warrior For Jesus Christ no matter what the final outcome is with your health, finances, family, job (trauma), I pray you can be a witness to the sweet grace, peace and hope that only GOD in Jesus Christ name can give us in our darkest times.

We believe in miracles because I am a miracle and I know GOD can create a miracle for you too!
Never give up as GOD will never give up on you.  Perhaps tomorrow will be your big day a breaking of sunshine is coming never give up!

Remember FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real – Satin whispers fear into
our ears but GOD screams the truth of peace, hope and eternal life.
