I hate it when videos like this give half truths by selecting only the facts that support their own agenda. The utube did not mention anything about carbon sequestering that is the result of good agricultural practices or the difference between animals that are raised on land that is otherwise un-tillable or un-farmable. There is also a vast difference between meat that is pasture-raised and meat that is factory-raised. Cattle are not and were never meant to be grain fed and fattened.

I wonder if this same group has looked at ethanol in the same way… how much fuel is burned in order to produce the gas we burn in our cars. I would highly recommend utubes that show what Alan Savory has done in Africa to re-claim desert land using animal impact and grazing. Our eco-system needs a variety of healthy approaches to keep in balanced and healthy. Diversity is key and if we throw out simplistic answers like “Don’t eat meat.” we are going in the wrong direction. Animals of all types are a part of our eco-system and our food chain.

Where will all the domestic animals go and how will they be fed and supported in this video creator’s perfect world?

Sorry to be so reactive, but this utube is an example of problem solving that “may” fix something on the surface, but create more problems in the long run.

      Hi Nancy,

Thank you for reading my blog and thank you for taking the time to voice your opinion. No quick fixes are available in our fragile world, awareness, understanding we the consumer have a choice as to cage free eggs, small farms in lieu of factory meat. If we do not read, stay aware we cannot make a change, things will no doubt continue to stay the same. Wish I could answer your questions I suggest writing to the maker of the video http://www.makeitpossible.com/ as I posted to share for awareness and change. I am not part of this organization.

      Have a great day!

Thanks so much for sharing the link. I will see what I can find out, and thank you for your response. I felt like I was ranting. The utube (obviously) touched a nerve and feel like it is symptomatic of our easy-fix society. If “we” want to, we can dig up statistics and numbers to support almost any point of view. If it’s a viewpoint we agree with, we’re easily led to follow along without digging any deeper into the issues or even questioning what is said. Thanks again for your response. Nancy
