The Bears Are Back!

M2E39L136-136R395B312 M2E27L80-80R396B304

The black bears arrived early this year usually they come in time for the black berries (August) and a big surprise a baby bear. This is the second time we have seen baby bears in twelve years what a treat.

How do we keep the bears out of our yard?

* Never leave dog food, bird food etc. out for them

* Own a couple of big dogs

* Never leave garbage cans outside

How do we keep our donkeys and horse safe?

Planning comes first and then the equine can come home!  We installed horse wire on the paddock and hot wire on the bottom and top to prevent any predator from coming into the paddock.  We never let them out to graze in the green and wooded paddock without being home to watch and ensure no predators are around.

The way we look at it the bears lived here long before we moved in, they have the right to run on the back five acres and be bears.  🙂

What do you think about wildlife and bears?

GOD bless you and your family two and four-legged!

How lucky are you! We love that you make sure all your animals are safe and therefore the bears are free to roam where you want them to.

Well we try to let the wild life be wild and stay out of their way. I make lot’s of noise on the lower five acres to not startle anything, living in the Pacific Northwest is truly an adventure.
Nice to hear from you again.
