Social Media, Don’t Try To Win Over The Haters – Not The Jack Ass Whisperer

donkeywhispererfarm

For those of you who have been following my blog since 2010 you know how hard I have worked to create my new business Donkey Whisperer Farm, LLC. I try really hard to help people, pray and inspire people and yet I have found some pretty amazing things out about complete strangers especially on FB.

Seems no matter the post, or even just a photo I share their is always a few negative comments, attacks. Your photo is not straight, I took it with my cell phone.  I do not like your rules. I have a group named ON DONKEY TIME on FB, Secret group now. Rules are always given before entering my FB group named On Donkey Time.

The photography group I was in did not remove the attacker so I left the group. Groups need rules and negative people who attack should be shown the barn door. When people attack me or members on my group they are removed. Oh the peace when the trolls are gone.

Select Negative People Hate Success to read another blog’s approach on this issue.

Copied from the blog above

“The form of the harm can be much more complicated too. People can incorrectly take a comment you make out of context (which in some states could potentially be ground for a false light claim); they can share hurtful opinions (which are generally protected speech under defamation law); or expose a truth that is less than flattering to you (a statement isn’t defamatory if true).”

It’s never fun, no matter what, when someone is negative about something that makes you happy, proud, or excited. But along with death and taxes, it’s a given in our society. Here are some more ideas on how to handle the haters:

  • Don’t engage. This is the simplest, most straightforward, and easy way to subtly say “no thanks,” to negative people. They can be all pouty, mopey, angry, etc etc all they want, but you are having no part of it. Offer a smile, shrug, and move on to better things.
  • Remember that personal attacks aren’t always so personal. Again, negative people can lash out, be critical, or downright mean because it’s simply the path of least resistance for those emotions. It’s much easier to be mad at the world than to look inward, find the problems there, then take appropriate action to reach a solution.
  • Be in charge of your own positivity. The easiest way to let negative people get to you is by putting too much value into their opinions and not enough into your own. You don’t need outside validation for everything you create, every goal you make, or every success you enjoy. If you need feedback, it’s best to get it from someone you know is honest – and happy with themselves, as well. This way, you can get any constructive criticism you may need, but without the bite of hatefulness that will come from someone only too eager to point out the weaknesses of others.

And if you find you’re the negative person? It’s okay. Honestly. But it’s time to understand that you are powerful, capable, and strong. Here’s how to focus on the positive and leave your negativity, hate, and anger behind:

  • Take action. You are in charge here. You can make the change you want to see in your own life. Yes, it may be hard – it may be really hard – and you might fail before you succeed. But keep at it! If Plan A didn’t work, think of a new approach and try Plan B. Believe in yourself and start putting one foot in front of the other.
  • Surround yourself with positive people. Positivity is contagious! Catch a little for yourself by seeking out positive, driven, motivated, and inspired individuals. Be happy for them when they find success – and enjoy how good it feels when others are happy for you when you are successful.
  • Be grateful. It’s so easy to get caught up in what’s wrong or bad in life. But you’re missing out on all the good that’s happening around you – it’s like you’ve got blinders on and you can only see the negatives. So take a moment every day to be grateful for what you do have, where you have been successful, and for what’s going right.

Why Do People Attack Others On Social Media?

Well it’s easy, to get angry with someone you do not know and try to make them feel bad as there is no accountability. Doubt people would talk the way they do to others from behind their computer face to face. “Our world is becoming more and more disconnected from social interactions, fb, and the other social networks as they make it feel like you are connected to the outside world but really nothing is the same as being in a relationship with a living human or animal.” Hiding behind electronics and beating another human up for trying to start a business is really sad.”

Do these insults bother me?

No they do not, I look to JESUS CHRIST my Lord and Savior for my self-esteem, I continue to try to make the world a better place for donkeys, horses and mules. I pray for the people who are so negative they must beat up others on social media and keep pressing towards my goal of building my business Donkey Whisperer Farm, LLC. I continue to thank GOD I can talk, think, write and use my brain and not be negative. So much nicer to pay it forward then tear another down. I seriously feel sorry for people who do this.

My advice to you if you encounter this?

Walk away from trolls, yes I said trolls as these are people who work all day to destroy anything good in the world. Their job is to make you feel sad, cry and miserable. What they don’t understand is no one has this power over another human. I must give the power of my self-esteem away and I will never do this. I am a child of Jesus Christ. I am grateful GOD has given me the ability to withstand all I have survived. I pray for the negative people in our world who make bad comments about a photo that we share oh it’s not straight or its this or that. Really, find another way to make yourself powerful other than putting another person down.

How to handle attacks on social media?

Select Ideas To Protect Your business and Reputation

Sharing on social media is no fun when no rules are in place, make sure you are on a group that has rules.

Make sure if you join a group you have good administrators who remove trolls and stop attacks. If you have no rules the trolls will destroy anything positive and pretty soon they are the only ones talking on the group as the rest of the group is afraid of them.

Enjoy life, stay On Donkey Time, my business logo where life is slow and relaxed, like On Beach Time.

Maggot Therapy and Rehabilitation Of Domesticated Equine

Melody Kissing RioMELODYRIORIDING2014SEQUIMAGE8MelodyLilybestshotlabordayweekendafteraride20114

My husband, our six donkeys, two horses, three dogs and two feral indoor rescue cats moved to Sequim, WA in 2014. Since moving into our new farm I have received one to two people per week at my gate trying to give me horses, donkeys and mules who need homes. Even Christmas eve, really Christmas eve, tears for all the abused and neglected domesticated equine and people in our world. People just stop their cars at my gate and start  telling me the story next I hear how I have the space to take on more rescues. We already have three rescue equine. Eight is enough and with my physical disability this is all I can take care of and train both physically and financially. Never forget “The Free Equine Is NOT Free” sadly most people do not think about the ramifications of not being able to say NO. Last year I started using Facebook in order to share free education to help the owners of donkeys, mules and horses along with advertising my new worldwide training business and my hand-made art work ON DONKEY TIME. Wow did this open my eyes to this very problem I am describing to you, so many people think it will be easy to care for equine. News flash farming is a twenty-four seven passionate job. I am dirty every day, vacations are very rare and getting away over night is almost impossible, getting out of the equine world is more difficult I tell people it’s emotionally as connected to me as getting a divorce. My equine are healers, each one is unique and requires an entirely different approach and energy level from me. Never think that each donkey, horse or mule you bring home will require the same training as this is not true. Most importantly you must change for your equine to change.

Maggot Therapy

Wondering what this is Select Maggot Therapy to read how to help restore the hoof. Next learn everything you can about how to provide the diet and environment with the best holistic care you can. Select Maggot Therapy wounds for donkeys, horses and mules.

Living Will For All Your Animals

After the semi truck accident left me with a disability for the rest of my life I quickly learned the importance of having a will. Life can change at any minute and if you do not plan ahead your animals fate will be grim. Most family members do not have family who want to take care of their animals. So do the right thing plan ahead for your beloved animals.

Colic

Every month I am hearing about another donkey, mule or horse dying from colic. Please do not just throw the hay over the fence and fill a bathtub with water. Weather changes from warm to extreme cold can trigger colic. Learn how to keep your domesticated equine in optimum health. God created all equine to walk fifteen to twenty-five miles a day, sadly most do not walk more than one hundred steps a day. The domesticated equine stands around in a stall, round pen or a very small pasture not getting any exercise, sadly seldom clean water. Most colic is preventable in domestication the key is taking the time to educate yourself on how to prevent colic.

Prevention is the best medicine for our beloved domesticated equine

1. Diet

2. Clean Water

3. Correct Vitamins

4. Exercise

5. Emotional rehabilitation for the equine has no date of time just like us humans after severe abuse and neglect

6. Shelter, blankets, medicine

7. Vet check for health, teeth, chiropractic, acupuncture, herbs, and I highly suggest picking up the poop, composting and doing fecal samples before worming

8. Hoof care every six weeks in the summer and seven in the winter as the growth of the hoof slows down in the cooler seasons

3 DONKS APPLES

Is it possible to rescue and rehabilitate equine?

Yes, but please learn all the facts before attempting to rescue and rehabilitate any equine. So many people think they can rescue with just love and time. Not true, do your homework and understand this road will be a long process consuming money and emotional resources as veterinary care is very expensive. Just like us humans we have no idea how long it will take the equine to get rehabilitated and in some cases no matter what we do we can never get their minds, and bodies back 100%. Abuse of the diet and emotional care is the worst to restore as just like us humans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress so does the equine. Rehabilitation of the abused, neglected equine is no easy matter as the expense is high for the human financially, physically and emotionally. The good news if you will learn what is needed to keep your equine (donkey, horse or mule) healthy you can not only bring the domesticated equine into health again you can save a life.

Dreaming Of Landscaping Our New Farm

Select How To Make A Horse Topiary

horseframefilled Rearing%20Horse%20sculpture421frameeee

I am now creatively planning and dreaming of how I will landscape our new farm in Sequim, WA. I plan on making a horse and donkey pulling a carriage topiary for the farm. Fitting ha? Miss Lily and Mr. Rio Johnson the Mammoth donkey! I think this will be beautiful and easy to maintain and for now it gives my mind a place to travel and dream as I do enjoy dreaming and planning. Perhaps it is one of the gifts GOD gave me the ability to take a blank white slate of paper and make it beautiful, I take great pleasure in making things beautiful and most importantly functional.

Do you have any topiary skills to share?

I would love to hear from you and see your landscaping and blog if you have one so do not be shy leave a comment.

When we purchased our twenty acres in the summer of 2013 the land came with two pear trees and one apple tree that’s it. Now we have accomplished so very much and yet the final touches are still in my head, landscaping will come last as our final home (build one) comes first.  Living in the 5th wheel is temporary and it does have its advantages housework takes five minutes when hubby and I work together and more time to play. Stay tuned as I promise it is going to be spectacular I do love to create and plant flowers and art is one of my most favorite things to create in the yard.

horseframeforartlandscaping

Seems GOD plants us people too, it’s a deep thought don’t you think?  All the plants in this yard are perennials, meaning they come back each and every year for the pure joy and essence of enjoying them year after year. I took a blank slate in our home/farm of fourteen years in Kingston, WA and created the walk-way path in the photo below all from baby plants I prayed over each one as I planted them in their forever homes.

No place is closer to GOD than in a Garden. :)
