“Yesterday as I was walking my horse to another pasture a very protective (select KillDeer bird) came out attacking me and my horse. She built her nest in our driveway. We placed traffic cones around her nest so as not to disturb her. I am excited to share these babies. Living on the new farm in Sequim, WA is a treat, a blessing, we thank GOD every day to get to live here.” Melody

2014 on the farm

One day we will have our hay planted, irrigation running. This is called a wheel line. Photo was taken on another farm in Sequim, WA. Farming is not easy and it takes GOD to create the miracle to make it happen. Thank you JESUS for the blessings and favor coming.

Safely Enveloped: Hummer Rescue

Donkey Whisperer Farm, LLC:

I love hummers too!

Originally posted on The Beauty Along the Road:

We love to watch the hummingbirds feeding on our porch. The cats watch them, too, but pretend to not be interested as they know the hummers are much too fast for them ….except when they fly into a window and are knocked unconscious momentarily. After the telltale thump against the window, we quickly ran outside, saw the tiny bird on the deck and chased the cats away. My husband picked him up gently and held him in his hands. It was a male ruby-throated hummingbird recognizable by the bright red throat coloring.

The cats feigned disinterest but kept watching.

As he protectively held the tiny bird in his hands, the little one rallied a bit

This was our home and a gathering place of family, friends, and beautiful memories as this home was a diamond in the rough when purchased in 2001.
