North Western Images - photos by Andy Porter

The Sequim Lavender Festival officially runs July 21st, 22nd and 23rd. The lavender is already starting to bloom, you can check out the Bloom Report here.

Sequim is on the Olympic Peninsula, to get there from Sedro-Woolley, I drive to Coupeville and take the ferry to Port Townsend. From there its about an hours drive to Sequim.

Here are some images earlier trips to the Sequim Lavender Festival.

And a few images from the ferry ride over!

Check out this gardening blog!

The Frustrated Gardener

Many bulbs sold for garden cultivation are bold, colourful, long-flowering and best of all inexpensive, giving gardeners plenty of bang for their buck. In short, they are one of the plant world’s best investments. If you catch the bulb bug like me then there’s an inexhaustible range of hybrids and species to experiment with, and new ones coming along all the time.

Bulbous, cormous, tuberous and rhizomatous plants arrive in your garden with all the energy they need for the first growing season, stored up in the solid parts that live…

Select TOPIARY PLANTS I love it! The time and precise ability to make a plant look so alive is amazing. Gardening is truly one of my first loves. Now that we have moved to the farm I am working to grow food. Food for the donkeys and horses and food for me and my family to eat. Still I have a few surprises in my little garden. I do love the garden.
